I’m Rob Blasdell, the photographer behind Opulent Images.
I create cinematic portraits built around people, personality, connection, and story — photographs meant to feel intentional rather than formulaic.
I spent years working in manufacturing and logistics before making the decision to pursue photography full-time. Photography was never simply about owning a camera for me. I’m drawn to light, atmosphere, expression, and the challenge of turning an ordinary location or moment into something that feels larger.
I’m not interested in making everybody look the same.
Whether I’m photographing a graduating senior, a family with their dog, a rider with their motorcycle, a professional portrait, or a fully developed Signature Commission, I want the final photographs to feel specific to the person in them.
Sometimes that means simplicity. Sometimes it means dramatic light, rain, movement, architecture, or a concept built from the ground up. The common thread is intention.
Mid-Michigan roots. A cinematic eye.
I’m based in Mid-Michigan and work throughout the surrounding area and beyond when a concept calls for it. I’m a Marine Corps veteran, lifelong dog person, motorcycle enthusiast, and someone who probably spends far too much time studying light in movies, streets, weather, and everyday life.
My Doberman, Kane, also makes a fairly regular appearance around here.
